As if you already didn't know: McDonalds Hamburgers are synthetic
October 10th 2008 01:11
From time to time, I post frightening things on this blog, either deep-fried Twinkies or giant, 3-pound hamburgers. It's all a little bit of a laugh, and I get some sort of sick enjoyment at the idea that someone might actually be looking for health advice, and find an article about Twinkies.
Occasionally, though, I scare myself with what I post, and today is such a day.
Some clever health counselor bought a McDonalds Hamburger back in 1996, which, I assume you understand, is over 10 years ago.
Here's what it looks like today:
It looks just like a McDonalds burger, with a patty and a bun. Why hasn't it decomposed? Why isn't it rotten?
Even more shocking is that the writer went to McDonalds in 2008 and bought a new burger, laid them side-by-side:
Which one is which? Where's the ketchup?
The real question is: how long will it last? Will it never biodegrade? Will it still taste as good in 100 years? If so, perhaps we should consider packing our soldiers and hikers with packs of McDonalds hamburgers.

"People always ask me - what did you do to preserve it ?
Nothing - it preserved itself.
Ladies, Gentleman, and children alike - this is a chemical food. There is absolutely no nutrition here.
Not one ounce of food value. Or at least value for why we are eating in the first place. "

I wonder will he keep it and bring it out in the next ten years to show any 'progress' it has made. Lord knows what the world will be up to by then though.

AND - their new extra special avocado sauce is pure synthetic green spicey goo that does not even resemble the taste of avocado - but it still tastes nice too. Hehe. BTW - the old burger looks better - the new one looks burnt - is this a reversing of time - maybe they actually mature???

WTF? The food system in America is defunct. Grow your own "Victory Garden" now and you'll have healthy nutritional food that also brings you pride knowing that you did it yourself. Buy local! Buy seasonal! Buy organic!!!!
