Cardiac Rehabilitation is very important after angioplasty

Heart attacks are normal these days, with the amount of pollution and atmospheric turmoil that man has created for him. Most of the people dying natural death all across the globe, are dying due to heart attacks. Weak arteries and weaker veins have failed lots of times to keep us fit and fine.
Angioplasty is the normal treatment provided to cardiac patient worldwide. In U.S. each year over 1 million patients are treated with this treatment. It has been found over the years that angioplasty has tremendous advantage over other cardiac treatments for the same symptoms.
American Heart Association has already made a statement that angioplasty is the best dealing for cardiac treatment where the patient has undergone a heart attack. Among all the people who experience an attack in the U.S. only a third seeks immediate medical help. Any help provided within 12 hours is called immediate; however, a patient should visit the doctor at the earliest possible minute.
What is this angioplasty? Well, angioplasty is a treatment done to repair or enlarge the blood vessels. Angioplasty is a medical treatment method of broadening a congested or narrowed blood vessel by inserting a balloon which inflates on its own. The congestion occurs mainly due to atherosclerosis. When the blood vessels are narrow, required amount of blood fails to flow through them, causing a heart attack. The severity of an attack depends upon the diameter of the opening through which the blood can flow within a coronary blood vessel. Angioplasty widens these vessels and makes the blood flow smoother, preventing further heart attacks.
It is always advised that the patient undergoes cardiac rehabilitation once this surgery is done. Now, researches have shown that patients who undergo rehabilitation once after angioplasty have shown better results of the surgery than those who have not followed the rehab. Cardiac rehabilitation includes exercises, restricted diet, changes in lifestyle and medication. There are many rehab centers who guide patients on these techniques and recent researches have shown that the members of these rehab facilities are fitter and stronger than those who had their angioplasty done, but failed to pursue the rehab techniques.
More and more patients these days are moving towards cardiac rehabs, which is good news. However, the aim of the authorities is to get most of the patients follow the regime and exercise, especially after the angioplasty operation, so that the patient becomes fitter and lives a longer life.
