What is Google health?

Google's latest piece of technology is all about revolutionising and streamlining the way we manage our health information.
Google Health is a web-based application that allows you to store and manage all your (and your partner, family, children etc.) health information in one place so that they can be accessible by you - and you alone Google stresses - anywhere in the world so long as you have an internet connection.
Similar to Microsoft's HealthVault, the application allows you to:
- start tracking a medical history and learn about your conditions
- import your medical records
- view your medical history
- find out how medications might interact
- make your health information work for you
- search for doctors and hospitals
As the user, you can decide how much (or little) information you wish to post online and Google stresses that your information will never be sold and will be stored "securely and privately" amid safety and privacy concerns. The benefits of using a web-based health information storage such as this is that it helps to make life easier by allowing you to schedule appointments, refill prescriptions, receive diagnostic results online including warnings of potential drug interactions.
Would you or any family members with a medical condition find something like Google Health useful?
