Liking bottled water is a racial issue

Swiss army water bottle
When bottled water started making it to the scene in the 90s, fitness experts went crazy. Finally, here was a way to get people to drink water, but still give them status while charging them ridiculous amounts for it.

Bottled water sold like crazy. It turn out, most of us don't really like soda and sugary juices - we like water, but we're hesitant to stick our mouths near the gummed up public drinking spouts. Have you seen those things?

The trend, though, appears to be primarily in the white demographic. I don't say this out of well-versed research or even any factual knowledge.

No, I say this because it's #76 on Stuff White People Like, a hilarious comedy website that reduces whiteness to its most predictable behaviours.

Sure, it's ludicrous, but deep down inside, it rings true.

Hell, I'm not even white, and the website describes me to the fifth decimal point:

"Logically, you would assume that drinking the most expensive premium bottled water (Fiji and Voss) would be enough to show the world that you are too good for tap water. And a few years ago, you would have been right. But lately, advanced white people have been getting very upset about all of the waste that comes with drinking 15-20 bottles per week.

The leading edge of white people have started to use sturdier, refillable bottles. But do not assume this is from the tap. Most white people need to run their water through some sort of filter (Brita or PUR) before they put it into their bottle. This allows them to feel good about using a refillable bottle, but it also makes it more complicated, which they also like."

I'm definitely in support of this idea. Let's get the hell away from disposable bottles for water, a substance that's free to drink from the tap. A substance that is taken, at nearly no cost, by Coca-Cola and Pepsi, then repackaged in nice looking plastic bottles, then sold to you, the sucker.

Certainly, though, drinking water after a workout is probably a better choice than drinking Gatorade, especially when the Gatorade makes up flavours like Powerberry and Winter Extreme Frost. They DO taste good, though...

Morgan, it is weird because I'm not white and I love everything on that list: wearing shorts, drinking coffee, grad studies, Mos Def, Asian girls!

That was the funniest list ever!!!! so true about so many people lol. BUT still feel like that list associates being white with being American. I'm white, but I'm REALLY don't like America (go figure). To be completely honest I feel like depressed people like those kinds of things lol. Not that you are
