Relaxation Techniques
We all know how stressful life is in this modern age, so it is very important that we learn how to relax. Many people think that they don’t need recreational activities to keep them mentally healthy but stress can build up, taking toll on our bodies and can lead to many physical illnesses such as Cardiovascular Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Nervous Breakdown.
When you find yourself in a very stressful situation, try to relax and keep calm. It may sound a little old-fashioned but do try closing your eyes and counting down from 10 - it really does help. Just try to relax and focus on your breathing, in and out, then take a large deep breath and slowly breathe out. If you do this for a couple of minutes you’ll feel much more focused on whatever was stressing you out in the first place.
Try to make a little time for yourself a couple of days a week – go and have a hit of golf, join a yoga class or learn an instrument. Sport, relaxation and creative stimulation such as these tasks will help you become a more relaxed person, and thus dramatically decreasing your chances of major health problems, especially the major killer - Cardiovascular Disease, which is largely related to stress.
