What Not to Do: Luther Burgers

Luther Burgers on the bbq
Here at Health and Fitness, we often try to give you useful tips on losing weight and exercising. Sometimes, though, the best advice is to do the opposite of something.

For example, you should definitely NOT eat a Luther Burger, the burger that is rumoured to have killed Luther Vandross.

Vandross loved his burger: a bacon double cheeseburger, with all the trimmings. The innovation, though, was in the bun, normally the dullest part of the burger, and one that has few relatively few calories.

Yes, Vandross broke new ground by replacing the bun with two Krispy Kreme donuts, themselves loaded with 15 g of fat each, not to mention the cascade of sugar that falls on them.

You can see where Vandross slid into the fatty abyss... of course, now the burger is legendary, with baseball stadiums selling them by the truckload, and they look absolutely revolting on that grill, don't they? The image is apparently taken from a Google cafeteria, found on Al Dente.

As one of the commenters writes:

"Okay I just had to try it. And it is the best burger I have ever had. I made them myself, with about half the beef per burger that you see in the picture. I used lean bacon, so I think it is good for me LOL. For anyone who has not tried it, shut up until you do. You cannot speak with knowledge until you have experienced it yourself, and I guarantee anyone who likes burgers and likes Krispie Kreme will LOVE this burger. I only ate 3, so I think I will survive to spread the word."

How does this integrate into your Atkins diet?

I Actually thought it was a bagel -- with eeky stuff lol.

True. Americans will eat anything... disgusting most of the time... they have the most number of diet plans and programs yet they also have the most fattening ideas in the world...
